Liturgical Ministry

About

Our liturgical ministry consists of those parishioners who assist in the celebration of Mass. Positions include: altar servers, lector/commentator, master of ceremonies, offertory/presentation of gifts, pre-mass rosary leaders, and ushers. If you are a new parishioner and/or would like a mid-year training, please contact the ministry leaders.

Pre-Mass Rosary Leader

This ministry leads the praying of the Rosary with all parishioners twenty minutes before each weekend Mass begins.

Lector/Commentator

These individuals welcome the entire congregation to St. Peter for the celebration of Mass, proclaim the first and second readings, read the prayer intentions, and announce song titles. Becoming a Lector/Commentator is a true calling from the Holy Spirit and a serious commitment to your faith and parish. Students must be high school or older to be a lector/commentator.

Offertory/Presentation of Gifts

These individuals have the privilege of bringing the bread and wine to the altar that will miraculously be transformed into the Body and Blood of Our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Altar Server

Students in 6^th grade and up (girls 6-8^th grade only) who assist Father in the celebration of the liturgy. It is an extreme privilege to kneel so close to the altar as our loving Savior, Jesus Christ, becomes truly present upon the altar. Training is held at various times throughout the year for students wishing to serve.

Master of Ceremonies (MC)

This position is reserved for high school boys only. MCs instruct other altar servers during Mass, as well as assist Father with any additional tasks.

Usher

Ushers provide hospitality to our parishioners by locating available seating, collect the treasure offerings, and distributing bulletins after weekend Masses. Ushers need to arrive twenty minutes prior to Mass.
