Altar Society
Mission Statement
St. Peter the Apostle Altar Society promotes Christian charity to our parish community by maintaining the altar and sacristy for all liturgical seasons, promoting unity for the women of the parish through spiritual and social activities which is evident by our generous service and committed lifestyles.
About
This group of women maintain the Church’s sanctuary, altar, and sacristy. The Altar Society provides and maintains necessary liturgical items such as candles, host, wine, priest vestments, server garments, altar linens, and assists in preserving the beauty of the Church for daily worship. Meetings are held at 7:00 pm the 3rd Thursday of most months in Dominic Hall between September and May. The season starts with members bringing a salad, casserole or something to share at the Salad Supper held in September. This ministry acknowledges ALL women over the age of 18 years as members and are encouraged to attend the meetings. Come join the fun!

Funeral Dinners
A cookie reception or funeral luncheon is hosted by the Altar Society for registered parishioners upon the death of a loved one. We ask the family to pay for the meat/rolls for the luncheon, and members of the parish provide sides, serve the meal, and clean up afterwards. For a list of recipe ideas, please click HERE.

Fall Bazaar
Altar Society hosts an annual craft bazaar the 2nd Saturday of October in the school. This event has over 90+ vendors selling crafts, jewelry, clothing, repurposed items and a few direct marketing sales. Our lunch menu has mouthwatering bierocks, soup, cinnamon rolls and homemade pies! You can attend just for lunch and take home some baked goodies from our Country Store. We offer a bierock and cinnamon roll workshop to prepare for this event so watch the bulletin for details and volunteer opportunities for the entire family. It’s just not a woman thing! Altar Society uses the proceeds from this event to pay for Altar expenses, vestments and server garments, liturgical items and holy linens.
