Happy September! We have officially finished two whole weeks of school!!

A few reminders:

We will be heading to the Kansas State Fair on Thurs., Sept. 12th .   We will be leaving around 8:15 and returning before dismissal.  The students need to bring a sack lunch (we will provide drinks) and should wear jeans and a spirit wear or uniform shirt with tennis shoes.

Remember to check agendas each night for homework that is due.  Agendas are to be signed each night.  We are quickly approaching mid term, so make sure to take those AR tests!  Each student should have half of the first quarter's required 5 AR points by then.  Also, the students will need to be ready to say the Angel of God and the Our Father by the end of the month.

We will be taking our first math test over Chapter 1 after returning from our Labor Day break. We are working on adding and subtracting larger numbers so reviewing basic addition and subtraction facts will be helpful. The students have also begun their timed tests for addition.  Their goal is to complete 50 facts in 2 min. We will work on addition through September and hope to move on to subtraction before October.

The students have access to Thinkcentral at home which has all of their textbooks for math, reading, and science.  They are able to listen to the text and access other features that can be an aid in studying for tests. Our weekly spelling, reading, and grammar tests are on Fridays.  Spellingcity.com is a great way for students to practice their words for the week.

Thank you for all that you do to support your student's learning!  As always, feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
